- Petography
- It's a dog's story, but the cat is writing it!
- Our lives just wouldn't be the same without them. They are our best friends, our comfort - our family. The time they spend with us may be brief, but the impact they have on our happiness is vast, infinite even. What better way to commemorate your best friend's memory than in a professional photo of the two of you or of your pet alone. As an owner and lover of four dogs and two cats, Dozier Photographer Karen D., can capture your pet's personality in either an outdoor, more casual session, or an in-studio portrait session. We also have a combination session that begins at the location of your choice and ends in the studio. Pet photography also makes a wonderful gift idea for the pet-lover in your life. Gift certificates are available.
- Tips and advice for Pet Photography
- If you have chosen to do an outdoor session, choose a location that both you and your pet are familiar with (off-leash parks and trails allow for the most freedom)
- If you have chosen an in-studio session, take your dog for a long walk, or to the park for Frisbee for about an hour just prior to the photo shoot. We want him to be a little tired and ready to pose.
- For outdoor sessions, arrive about an hour early and just play with your dog for awhile before the shoot.
- Pet costumes can be very cute for indoor sessions, they become a bit of a hassle for outdoor sessions.
- If you are having a cat, or other "non-canine" friend photographed, Dozier recommends that unless your pet is comfortable going to unfamiliar places, we come to your home for this photo session.
- Some great off-leash areas:
Chautauqua Park, Boulder
Off-leash training parks, Chatfield and Cherry Creek Reservoirs
Happy Trails Dog Park, Brighton - Check out other great places for dogs at:
